Career to Date:

Scarborough

  • Michael started his career in the U8’s and went on trial at Premier League club Everton playing against Liverpool youth
  • He captained the U19’s that won the Northern Alliance League in 2003 – 04 season and made his senior debut in October 2004 as a substitute against Accrington Stanley which made him the youngest player to represent Scarborough
  • He claimed the accolade of the club’s youngest goal scorer in March 2005 before signing his 1st pro contract; Michael went on to make 14 appearances and scoring 2 goals

Barnsley

  • Signed a 2-year contract in July 2006 following Barnsley’s promotion to the Championship, during his time at Barnsley he went on loans to Northwich Victoria, Chester City and Grimsby Town

Grimsby Town

  •  After being released by Barnsley he signed a 2-year contract in May 2010, making 72 appearances and scoring 16 goals

York City

  • Signed for York City in the summer of 2012 scoring on his debut against Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup; during his time at York, Michael went on to make 117 appearances and scoring 20 goals

St Johnstone

  • He signed a 2-year deal in the have 2016 but left after making on 14 appearances in the Scottish Premiership

Scarborough Athletic

  • In July 2017 he signed for Scarborough Athletic in the evo Stik Northern League north, helping the team to gain promotion in Northern Premier League and win the Golden Boot for his 44 goals in season
